Firing power and destruction increasement

The game has received a small update which greatly improves the accuracy, firing power and destructivity of the helicopters. Here is a list of the changes and fixes: Fixed the impact of miniguns and 30mm cannons being a little bit offset from the crosshair.Miniguns are now deadlier to mutant infantry and vehicles, with a higher radius of damage.Rockets are now much more faster, are more explosive and inflict more damages.Missiles are travelling faster and can now wipe out entire convoys of mutants.Resupply zones are now resupplying cartridges and rockets much more quickly.Fixed the cartridges ammo count which was always leaving one unusable cartridge.Fixed the…

Early Access launch and controls improvements

With the initial controls closer to a realistic flying simulator, the helicopters were quite hard to pilot and could require a lot of time to learn and be efficient with them.It is why improvements were made to make the game more playable and easy to handle to avoid giving a frustrating experience of helicopter crashing. It is now much easier to control the altitude and direction, therefore giving more accuracy and stability when firing at grounded targets. The helicopter holds its altitude when flying so it is less prone to crashing when manoeuvring to dodge enemy fire. Here is a video…

Early Access launch and clarifications about gameplay controls.

Following almost a year of development, Aerial destruction has just been launched as an Early Access and is now available to play. Many tweaks are still being made and some updates with fixes should come soon, including more contents. In the meanwhile, there seems to be some difficulties with handling the gameplay controls which I would like to explain here. The controls for helicopters in Aerial Destruction is an attempt to be close to reality, which means it doesn't work like a first person shooter with W moving forward and A-D strafing left and right. Instead the keys are mostly…

Some pictures of the “Night Ops” mission with the Ka-50

Following the development of the single player campaign, more missions were created taking action on different places and during various moments of the day. Here is a mission which takes place during the night and where the player will have the opportunity to pilot the Kamov Ka-50 inside enemy territories. The goal in this mission is to destroy a bridge used by the mutants to cross a river and attack allies positions. It won't be easy because the area is full of mutants troops armed with anti-aircraft weapons and even worst, the only missiles capable of destroying the bridge are still…

Progress in the development of the single player campaign

During these last days, a lot of work has been going on the creation of a complete single player campaign that the game will feature, and one of these missions has just been completed and is now in a playable state. In this mission, an allied army is in a massive retreat and the objective is to support the allied troops on the ground to evacuate the area and battle their ways against multiples ambushes coming from the bio-mutants overhanging the place. The helicopter available in this mission is the Apache AH-64, which will introduces to the game the new…

Some bugs fixes and improvements for Action Alien

After all the updates and improvements that the game has been receiving since its release, it has proven to be quite solid. Although there are some occasional minor bugs which were reported through the time, I decided to take the time to fix them and push a new update for Action Alien. The first issue was that sometimes, pick-able objects in the game like keys, food, weapons, etc... would sometimes fly over a long distance when bumped by debris thrown by aliens when breaking up inside a building. While most of the times it was not a serious distance, it could…

Aerial Destruction launched!

After announcing the game and submitting it to IndieDB, I would like to give a concise description about and a quick overview of the main features. Aerial Destruction is a helicopter game featuring a semi-realistic arcade gameplay with colourful graphics where the goal is to destroy armies of bio-engineered mutants during a complete single player campaign followed by multiple missions. Helicopters There are many helicopters to unlock and each one come with its own tactic and weapons. The MH-6 Little Bird is a little combat helicopter fast but with low health, its two miniguns and small rockets are efficient in quickly storming…

Regarding the trademark issue with inXile Entertainment…

No news about the game development in this post, unfortunately ! But considering how much attention my trademark issue with inXile Entertainment has recently taken, I would like to give more details about my exchange with them regarding the title of my game to clear up the situation. Despite what they said, I wouldn't call the way how inXile has reached me out to be 'friendly'. When someone drops you an email with things like "You may not be aware but wasteland is a registered trademark so The Alien Wasteland from a licensing perspective is no different from the Alien…

Change of the title and adding of the survival mode !

Adding of the survival game mode !In the last update, one of the main feature which has been added was the perk system and the upgraded weapons unlockable with points earned when defeating aliens. To make this feature even more enjoyable, 2 maps with a survival game mode have now been added to the game ! These 2 maps are different from the previous ones in the way that the goal is no more to find and collect some items or complete some objectives, but instead it is to hold on against an endless stream of aliens for as long as possible to achieve…
